Pointillism

This was an ATC I made for a Pointillism swap. My partner liked dragons and mushrooms, I like how it came out. Although now I remember why I haven’t done pointillism in forever.

I got a tabletop easel for Christmas, so I hope to be painting more often and bigger now. I got a few canvases, different sizes, now I just need a picture I really like or a project to work on. Any suggestions?

This pointillism is one of the most interesting pieces I’ve seen of yours, Littlelynx! I like it a lot. Have you thought of trying a larger one? I know they are tedious, but I walked across the room from my computer screen and looked at it. I love the magic of pointillism! Super ATC!

Thanks so much for the great compliment! I’d do a larger one if I had something I really wanted to draw in this style. I’m thinking about doing another small one, maybe in black and white.

Whaoooh cool! Great job! You seem to draw mushrooms a lot. You should branch out, draw some of those funky yellow kind that grow out of trees, wood-ears with faeries on them (okay I just love faeries), etc.

Or, you could paint scenes from THAILAND. I am so inspired by the things I photographed, omg. Lotuses have been one before but they are really beautiful and symmetrical from the right angle, and there are all sorts of mythological whatnots in my FB gallery of Thai buddhist statues. (I like the monkey and rooster people!0

Hehe, I’ll draw one of those just for you! I did see some of your pictures from Thailand and it looks amazing! Definitely some paintworthy pictures there! I really like the sculpture pond you have pictures of. Very cool.
