For some reason this pose was very intimidating to me. Now that I look at it again I mostly like it, but it’s driving me nuts that her left are is horribly skinny…

I have been drawing. Definitely not as much as I was in Feb, but I have. I just haven’t taken pictures of my drawings yet. I’ll post them sometime; maybe not this week, but I have them and they will be posted when I get a chance and I actually remember I need to do that.

My art journal is a lot of fun. I’m still trying to hard to keep it perfect, and I think once I lose that mentality I will have even more fun with it. One of the pages of my journal is about the roller derby I went to. I’ve never been to one before, it was fun.

These are the logos for all the teams that competed.

I put the rocks on the bottom, then the soil, then the moss, and decorated. I was reading and it seems that activated charcoal is recommended for one of the layers, but I don’t have any of that around. We’ll see how this one does, if not so well, I’ll find some charcoal.

As I enjoyed a vanilla latte before work I drew the Starbucks I was in. I need to work more on perspective.

The good news: it’s right next to work.

My friend introduced me to an online clothing store called Ruche. I LOVE IT! I love the style, I love the colors, I love the way it’s set up.

This drawing is from an ad on that website that I feel in love with. Very beautiful ethereal moment caught in time.

And to top it all off, I just found out I got a 66 out of 60 on my first chemistry test! GO ME!

This drawing is of my little red betta Pineapple. He was watching me while I was drawing him, and then when I finished he moved to a better position to draw where you can see his beautiful fins. Go figure

I watched a national geographic show about ‘Migrations’ and they had a crab migration on there. I was inspired to draw crabs. They are such cute, yet creepy little characters.

We had an art therapy session at work. Luckily I had some slow time and I was able to participate. I made an orange pomander. I’ve never made one before, but I love love love the smell of citrus and cinnamon. I can’t wait til it dries a bit more, then the smell will be a bit stronger.

Yesterday I had some ‘Wild Strawberry Tea’. The packet was so pretty I decided to draw it. This was some tea I had gotten in a tea swap a while back. When brewed it has this beautiful deep red color. It did not need any sweetener, and it was rather fresh tasting. Unfortunately, my tummy hurt afterward. I think I would still try it again, just to be sure. It is very good. I don’t think I’ve ever tried tea from Heath & Heather before. I really like their marketing (the illustrations on their tea packets).

Plus I read that drinking white or herbal tea is the same as drinking water, so it counts towards my 8 glasses of water a day! Bonus.

What will she do next!!!

This painting is of one of my favorite Tshirts. I got it on Threadless.com where people can submit their own designs. I like the idea that someday I can design a tshirt that people would actually wear and I’d get paid for it. Fun little dream.

I needed a spa day on Saturday. I was just feeling so down and out of it. I even went and got myself a few things. I got a bright orange and metallic blue nail polishes. I decided I had to use both! Hence the oddly colored nails (which worked very well with my mood). I also got a clay mask. Not really what I expected, but it did make my face ‘glow’. I think next time I might get a creamier mask; like the green kind you see with cucumbers over people’s eyes. It helped me relax. And the mineral bath from Japan turned the bath water bright yellow.

Absolutely no motivation to draw yesterday. Kind of how I’m feeling today. I think I will probably do another quick drawing like this (I cheated and skipped a few steps in the ‘how to draw book’).  I want to work on a more time intensive project, but I have soo much schoolwork to do. And I’m very tired. I need a day off…….six more days and counting.
