I have a bad habit of either A) not feeling it or B) just being lazy….and so my ATCs tend to get sent out later then the due date. This is not fair for my partners. Even though they get the ATC and usually some fun extras….I should be able to be discplined enough to get them out on time! So my new goal is just that. Get my ATCs out before the due date! Let’s do this thing!
I tried to do another variation on the fish swimming out of the window into the sky again. Once again, it’s not exactly what I was going for, but I think it’s cute. This was my surreal theme.
My favorite horse is the Friesian. I absolutely love these majestic creatures. I am however…not very good at painting black things….so these horses are normally gray, but that’s what he is in my picture. I attempted a fall like background, which colorful leaves. It looks washed out here, but that white has bright yellow actually. I’m okay with how this one came out. I haven’t drawn horses for a long time.
This is my happy buddha. I like how he came out. For the highlights I used art masking fluid, and then tried to drag some of the color over it, because they really were Highlights! Then I did a fun watercolor wash for the background…there are more pinks, reds, and oranges then my scanner picked up. Then I made the background, which really added to it. This is probably my favorite of any I’ve done in awhile.
My last art swap’s theme was ‘The Mess of Me’. I just had to incorperate everything I could that was ‘me’ on one card. It was harder to do then I imagined, and it didn’t quite come out like I had hoped it would. I think I might try this again in my sketchbook. It’s a fun idea to play with.
And on another note, my first christmas craft was…a fail…but I learned from in and the second one looks much better. So I’m still spending a lot of time on that.
Happy Holidays!

I’m sure I’ll draw her again. It’s amazing where inspiration comes from isn’t it?
The first elephant I drew I based on the way elephants are decorated at Indian Festivals. The background is supposed to look like a Henna Tattoo.
The second one I based off the fact that my swap partner likes giraffes. This is my first attempt at zebra stripes, for some reason I’ve always thought they were a little intimidating.
I call this one Mother Nature or Mushroom Mom.
Sorry it’s crooked….I didn’t realize I had scanned it that way until I had mailed the ATC. And it didn’t pick up the shadows and light colors as well as I would have hoped.
